Hertzliya Nears Finalizing Roster with Amselem and Zalmanson as Candidates
Hertzliya basketball team is close to completing its roster for the 2026/27 season as it continues to strengthen under coach Yehou Orland. Following the recent signing of DJ Bruton, the team is seeking to add a leading Israeli forward. The current lineup includes foreign players Zack Bryant, Deshawn Francis, Noah Carter, and DJ Barnes, alongside Israelis Dusty Hannahs, Amit Gershon, and Amit Menachem.
After difficulties in reaching an agreement with Rafi Menco, Hertzliya is considering Lotan Amselem, who has faced a decline in performance over the past two seasons but remains highly regarded by the coaching staff. Amselem is expected to potentially complete the Israeli contingent on the team.
Additionally, the name of 31-year-old Israeli player Idan Zalmanson has surfaced as a candidate. Zalmanson played last season for Holon, averaging 8.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. He previously played for Hertzliya during the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons. The team aims to finalize its roster soon ahead of the upcoming season.
