Herzliya Nears Finalizing 2026/27 Basketball Roster with Amselem as Candidate
Herzliya basketball team is close to completing its roster for the 2026/27 season under coach Yehou Orland. Following the recent signing of DJ Bruton, the team is seeking to add a leading Israeli forward to strengthen the squad. The current roster includes foreign players Zack Bryant, Deshawn Francis, Noah Carter, and DJ Barnes, alongside Israelis Dusty Hannahs, Amit Gershon, and Amit Menachem.
After difficulties in signing Rafi Menco, Herzliya is now considering Lotan Amselem, who has experienced a decline in performance over the past two seasons but remains highly regarded by the coaching staff. Amselem is a strong candidate to complete the Israeli contingent. Additionally, the name of 31-year-old Israeli player Idan Zalmanson has surfaced; he played last season for Holon, averaging 8.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Zalmanson previously played for Herzliya during the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons.
The team continues to build its lineup with an emphasis on balancing foreign talent and domestic players as it prepares for the upcoming season.
