IBM Achieves Quantum Supremacy Using Israeli Company Qedma's Software
IBM announced a significant scientific breakthrough on Thursday, demonstrating quantum supremacy with the help of Israeli company Qedma's software and algorithms. Using IBM's quantum computer, equipped with a superconducting chip containing 72 physical qubits, the company surpassed the performance of the world's most powerful supercomputer, which has 700,000 processor cores, by successfully conducting a complex physics experiment.
Previous attempts by competitors like Google and Quantinuum to exceed classical supercomputers were hindered by noise caused by the instability of quantum particles such as electrons, ions, or photons. Qedma's software effectively neutralized this noise during the experiment, enabling IBM to achieve a computational scale equivalent to 74 logical qubits, units of noise-free quantum processing power not previously attained in scientific experiments.
