Herzliya Stadium Reopens for National League Matches After Major Renovation

After a decade, Herzliya Stadium is set to host National League football matches again this season following a significant renovation. The Herzliya municipality invested approximately 20 million shekels to upgrade the stadium, which will serve as the home ground for Maccabi Herzliya. The stadium will host its first game tomorrow, Thursday, between Maccabi Herzliya and Ra'anana in the Toto Cup of the National League.

The renovation included refurbishing the restrooms, installing new concession stands, upgrading the benches and locker rooms, renewing the grass pitch, enhancing the perimeter lighting, and improving the cleaning system with an automated cleaning mechanism for the stands. Herzliya's mayor, Yariv Fisher, described the reopening as an exciting moment for local sports and emphasized the city's commitment to providing high-quality sports facilities. He expressed intentions to continue developing the stadium to meet Premier League standards, making it a worthy home for the city's teams and major sporting events.

Deputy Mayor and Sports Portfolio Holder Ofer Levy highlighted the municipality's promise to restore football in Herzliya to its proper status. He noted that after years of the stadium not meeting National League requirements, the investment allows Maccabi Herzliya to play at home in front of its fans again. Levy also mentioned ongoing plans to further upgrade the stadium and training fields used by around 3,000 youth football players in the city, aiming to meet Premier League standards in the future.
