Herzliya Stadium Reopens with Advanced Upgrades for National League Football

After a decade, Herzliya Stadium is set to host National League football matches again, following a comprehensive renovation funded by the city municipality with an investment of approximately 20 million shekels. The stadium will serve as the home ground for Maccabi Herzliya in the upcoming season and will host its first game tomorrow, Thursday, between Maccabi Herzliya and Ra'anana in the Toto Cup of the National League.

The renovation included upgrades to the restroom facilities, installation of new concession stands, improvements to the benches and locker rooms, replacement of the grass pitch, enhancement of the perimeter lighting, and an advanced cleaning system featuring automatic cleaning of the stands. Herzliya's Mayor, Yariv Fisher, described the reopening as an exciting moment for local sports and football fans, emphasizing the city's commitment to providing a high-quality, modern sports facility. He expressed intentions to continue developing the stadium to meet Premier League standards, aiming to make it a suitable home for the city's teams and top-tier sporting events.

Deputy Mayor and Sports Portfolio Holder Ofer Levy highlighted the city's promise to restore Herzliya football to its rightful place. He noted the stadium had not met National League requirements for years, but the recent investments now allow Maccabi Herzliya to play in front of its home crowd again. Levy also mentioned ongoing plans to further upgrade the stadium and training fields used by approximately 3,000 youth football players in the city, aiming to elevate the facilities to Premier League standards.
