Israeli Supreme Court Temporarily Suspends Law Freezing Desertion Detentions
The Israeli Supreme Court issued a conditional injunction on Tuesday that temporarily halts the enforcement of the law freezing the detention of military deserters. The decision was made by a panel led by Acting Supreme Court President Noam Sohlberg, alongside justices Daphna Barak-Erez, Yael Wilner, David Mintz, Alex Stein, Ofer Groskopf, Ruth Ronen, Yechiel Kasher, and Gila Kanfi-Steinitz. After considering the arguments presented both in writing and orally, the court granted the requested interim order. The justices emphasized that a final ruling on the matter will be delivered promptly.
