Ashdod Offers 46,000 NIS Monthly Net to Midfielder Chozaz Amid Promotion Push
M.S. Ashdod is intensifying efforts to build a strong team for the upcoming season, whether they play in the second-tier Liga Leumit or secure promotion to the Israeli Premier League at the expense of Ironi Tiberias. Following the signing of Dor Micha, Ashdod is now focusing on acquiring midfielder Matan Chozaz, who played for Hapoel Jerusalem last season. The club plans to offer Chozaz a net monthly salary of 46,000 NIS, a notably high figure, though still less than Micha's 60,000 NIS net monthly salary. Club owner Jacky Ben Zaken is committed to assembling a competitive squad for the next season.
Chozaz has yet to respond to the offer, as he is still considering options abroad or in the Premier League, so no agreement has been reached. On the technical staff front, Guy Weisinger, who recently left Maccabi Haifa, is set to join Ashdod's coaching team alongside current coach Nir Biton. The club's moves reflect a strong ambition to compete at the highest level in Israeli football.
