Global outage hits Facebook, Instagram and Messenger
Users around the world reported that Meta’s Facebook, Instagram and Messenger services were down today, Friday. Complaints spread across social media and the outage tracker Downdetector, which showed a sharp rise in reports about Instagram from about 25 to several thousand.
People said they were being logged out, could not load the app, or were unable to sign in to their accounts. Meta confirmed the disruption. The company’s communications vice president, Andy Stone, posted on X that Meta was aware that people were having trouble accessing its services and was working on the issue.
