Israeli Civil Administration Destroys Strategic Palestinian Buildings in Northern West Bank

Following a government decision to reassert control over northern West Bank areas, the Civil Administration's enforcement unit demolished several large Palestinian structures in the region. The demolitions took place near the Emek Dotan settlement and were directed by Finance Minister and Defense Ministry official Bezalel Smotrich, who ordered mapping and removal of illegal construction amid recent severe attacks.

The enforcement operation targeted key locations including Junction 9 and near Route 60. Among the demolished structures was a four-story building covering approximately 800 square meters used for industrial and residential purposes, identified as a central and prominent facility in the area. Another building of 450 square meters serving commercial and industrial functions was also destroyed.

Minister Smotrich emphasized that the demolitions are part of a broader policy over the past four years to strengthen settlements and significantly increase the demolition of illegal Palestinian buildings. He stated, "The choice to demolish symbolic buildings is deliberate, we are taking action on the ground to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian terror state in the heart of the country." The operation reflects heightened Israeli efforts to secure the northern West Bank following recent security incidents.
