Masked Attacker Smashes News 12 Entrance Door in Second Incident This Month in Tel Aviv

In the early hours between Monday and Tuesday, a masked individual shattered the glass entrance door of the News 12 newsroom building in Tel Aviv and fled the scene. This marks the second such attack on the news outlet within less than a month. Police were called to investigate the incident, opening a case and collecting evidence to identify the suspect.

Approximately three weeks ago, a similar event occurred when a masked person threw a stone at the entrance door of the News 12 studios and escaped. Additionally, in recent weeks, threatening and inciting graffiti was sprayed on the building's walls targeting the newsroom staff.

News 12 responded strongly to the latest attack, calling it a "real alarm" and condemning the violence as dangerous. The newsroom directly blamed the Israeli government and the Minister of Communications for inciting hostility against free media, which they say leads to such violent acts. They urged the police to act immediately to prevent further violence and affirmed their commitment to continue reporting despite threats, incitement, and violence.

The Tel Aviv South police station confirmed the damage was discovered during a routine patrol and that an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators. Similar attacks have recently targeted other media outlets in Tel Aviv, including the Haaretz newspaper, where a masked individual threw heavy bricks at the entrance door.

This wave of violence against media institutions highlights growing tensions and concerns over safety for journalists and free press in Israel.
