Entrance Door to Channel 12 News Building Vandalized Again in Tel Aviv

For the second time this month, the entrance door to the Channel 12 News building in Tel Aviv was smashed overnight between Monday and Tuesday. Police suspect the same individual is responsible, as a few weeks ago the entrance door to the Haaretz newspaper offices in Tel Aviv was also vandalized, and shortly before that, the Channel 12 entrance door was damaged as well. The Tel Aviv South police station opened an investigation into the incident, collecting evidence and questioning witnesses to identify the suspect.

These attacks come amid a recent wave of threats and incitement against media personnel and public figures. Following the previous incident, Channel 12 issued a statement condemning the violence and calling on the Israeli government and Communications Minister to stop inflammatory rhetoric against the free press, which they say fuels such serious acts.

In related events over the past months, hateful graffiti and threats were sprayed on the entrance wall of the Israel Defense Forces' Galei Tzahal radio station in Jaffa, including messages targeting the Supreme Court and law enforcement agencies. Similar graffiti appeared on the front wall of Network 13’s building, featuring inflammatory slogans and references to a soldier detained on suspicion of violence and kidnapping a terrorist. These incidents highlight growing tensions and hostility toward media and state institutions in Israel.
