Trump: “We Will Strike Iran Very Hard Today”

U.S. President Donald Trump said this evening (Wednesday) at the White House that he expects Iran to sign a deal soon. Trump responded to remarks he made earlier today that the Iranians would pay a price: “What do I mean by they’ll pay a price? We will strike them very hard. We hit them hard yesterday, and we will strike them again today.” He added, “Sometimes you have to use the strongest military in the world. They agreed they would not have nuclear weapons. They are negotiating, but they are stalling. They know what they are signing, it is a meaningful document.”

War Secretary Pete Hegseth also said similar things: “It would not be wise for Iran to challenge the United States further. Right now these are defensive strikes that protect our people. President Trump wants a deal, but not just any deal. A great deal in the name of the American people, that Iran will never obtain nuclear weapons.”

Trump referred to an Iranian drone striking a helicopter and said, “We were very lucky it did not explode. It got stuck in the helicopter and did not explode. The helicopter was already burning, but the bomb did not explode. Those two pilots knew very well what they were doing, but they were also lucky.”

Trump also responded to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s warning that Israeli strikes in Syria and Lebanon “also threaten Turkey.” Trump said, “A conflict between Israel and Turkey will not happen as long as I am president.”
