76-Year-Old Woman Drowns Near Shdot Yam Despite Resuscitation Efforts

A 76-year-old woman drowned today near Kibbutz Shdot Yam on Israel's Mediterranean coast. Emergency medical teams were called to the scene and performed prolonged resuscitation efforts after pulling her from the sea. Despite their attempts, including chest compressions, artificial respiration, and medication administration, the woman was declared dead at the site.

Shila Halevi, a paramedic from Magen David Adom's motorcycle unit, described arriving to find the woman unconscious, without pulse or breathing. He stated, "We began resuscitation efforts including compressions, breaths, and medication, but unfortunately had to declare her death."
