Big Brother Israel Star Yanki Goldhaber Reveals He Survived Sexual Assaults

Yanki Goldhaber, the star of the 13th season of Israel's Big Brother and the first ultra-Orthodox contestant on the show, courageously opened up on Instagram about the sexual assaults he endured, including one that occurred about a year ago. In a heartfelt Instagram story, Goldhaber described the trauma and ongoing fear he has lived with, explaining that the assaults happened twice: once during his yeshiva studies and again roughly a year ago. He detailed how the abuse began with seemingly innocent compliments, escalating into relentless conversations that caused him constant anxiety and emotional pain.

Goldhaber highlighted the manipulative tactics used by perpetrators behind social media accounts, who threaten victims and instill ongoing terror. He admitted that until now, he was terrified to speak out, fearing social stigma and retaliation from his abusers. However, he decided to break his silence to empower himself and others, declaring, "I am not afraid anymore. I will not let anyone silence me or make me live in endless fear. I will defeat you. You will pay for your actions."

He emphasized that sexual assault can be both physical and technological and urged victims not to be ashamed or afraid to share their stories. Goldhaber stressed the importance of ending this cycle of abuse, noting that many young people suffer in silence and need support to stop the violence.

His public revelation aims to raise awareness and encourage others to come forward, confronting the widespread issue of sexual abuse among youth in Israel.
