Israeli Border Police Officer Hananiel Sabag Named in Reckless Manslaughter Case

The Israeli Supreme Court has approved the publication of the name of Hananiel Sabag, a Border Police officer accused of reckless manslaughter. According to the indictment filed by the Military Police Investigations Unit (Machash) in October, Sabag allegedly shot and killed his friend, soldier Yosef Raboh, at the entrance to his home during the Sukkot holiday in 2023. The charges against Sabag include reckless manslaughter, negligence and recklessness with a firearm, and illegal possession of a weapon. Initially, the District Court allowed the publication of Sabag's name, but he appealed to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court rejected his appeal and authorized the public disclosure of his identity in connection with the charges against him.
