IDF Chief Orders Troop Reinforcements and Capture of All Attackers After West Bank Shooting
Following a deadly shooting attack near the village of Tel and Gilad Farm in the Samaria region, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir held a situation assessment on Friday. The attack resulted in the murder of Benyahu Malt, z"l, and injuries to other Israelis. The assessment included Central Command Commander Major General Avi Blot and Operations Branch Head Major General Itzik Cohen. Zamir instructed a broad reinforcement of forces in the area to strengthen protection of settlements and roads and to capture all terrorists involved in the attack.
The IDF reported that the shooter was killed shortly after the incident and that the weapon stolen during the attack was recovered. Concurrently, a multi-agency situation assessment is underway, led by the Central Command commander and involving the Judea and Samaria Division, the Shomron District Police, and Shin Bet representatives. Security forces continue extensive searches to locate all perpetrators.
Alongside the manhunt, offensive operations to thwart terrorism continue across Samaria, including in the village of Beit Furik and the Tubas area. These operations, which began the previous evening, target terror infrastructure as part of ongoing efforts to maintain regional security.
