IDF Demolishes Home of Terrorist Behind Deadly West Bank Shooting Attack

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) units from the Shomron Brigade, the Yahalom unit, and Border Police fighters operated overnight in the village of Tal in the West Bank to demolish the home of the terrorist who carried out a deadly shooting attack there. The attack, which occurred on July 24 near the Gilad Farm in the Shomron region, resulted in the deaths of Lieutenant Colonel (res.) Binyahu Malt and Captain (res.) Yuval Ezra, both members of the local security team.

The incident began when a group of hikers entered the outskirts of the Palestinian village of Tal near Nablus. As they approached the mosque area, they were confronted by dozens of Palestinians, leading to a violent clash. Members of the Gilad Farm security team, including Malt and Ezra, along with IDF forces led by the regional company commander, arrived to disperse the rioters and protect the hikers.

During the confrontation, several terrorists managed to approach one of the security team members, seized his personal weapon, and one of them opened fire on the hikers and security personnel. IDF forces returned fire, killing the shooter and recovering the stolen weapon. The clash also resulted in four Palestinian fatalities and four injuries, three of them critical.

The IDF stated it will continue proactive and offensive operations throughout Judea and Samaria to thwart terrorism and bring perpetrators to justice. The demolition of the terrorist’s home is part of this ongoing effort to deter attacks against Israeli civilians.
