Shin Bet Chief Visits Gilad Farm Terror Attack Site, Urges Public Not to Take Law Into Their Own Hands

Shin Bet Chief David Zini held a situation assessment at the site of the deadly terror attack in Gilad Farm, where 32-year-old resident Benyahu Malt was murdered. The meeting included Shin Bet commanders from the Samaria region and IDF officers, focusing on intensifying intelligence gathering and counterterrorism operations in local villages. Zini condemned the attack, expressing condolences to the victims' families and emphasizing ongoing joint efforts with the IDF to prevent further attacks. He noted that while dozens of attacks have been thwarted in recent months, this one was not prevented in advance. Zini urged the public to rely on security forces and refrain from vigilantism.

Benyahu Malt, a member of the local security team and responsible for agriculture at Gilad Farm, was killed while assisting a group of hikers attacked by terrorists. He was shot during rescue efforts and died at the scene, leaving behind his wife Esther and two daughters aged 12 and 13. Magen David Adom confirmed his death after resuscitation attempts. Two other shooting victims were airlifted to Ichilov Hospital; one is in critical condition and the other in serious condition, with medical teams fighting to save their lives.
