Israeli Broadcasting Pioneer Chaim Yavin Laid to Rest at Givat Hashlosha Cemetery

Chaim Yavin, a revered figure in Israeli public broadcasting and recipient of the Israel Prize, was laid to rest on July 24, 2026, at Givat Hashlosha Cemetery. Yavin, who passed away at the age of 93, was widely known as "Mr. Television" for his decades-long role as the anchor of the news program "Mabat." His funeral was attended by family members, friends, media professionals, and public figures who came to pay their final respects.

The funeral ceremony began at 11:00 AM and included speeches from Yavin's relatives, colleagues, and friends who had accompanied him throughout his career.
