Intruder Claims Ownership After Breaking Into Woman’s Bedroom in Kiryat Ata

On July 12, a 37-year-old man named Tal Ben Hamo from Kiryat Motzkin broke into a home in Kiryat Ata while the homeowner and her young daughter were inside. According to the indictment filed by the Zevulun District Prosecution at the Krayot Magistrate’s Court, Ben Hamo entered the property by opening the yard gate, then searched a storage room where he took a bag. He proceeded to enter the house through an unlocked door and went upstairs to the couple’s bedroom. There, he stole a mobile phone and other items, including a piggy bank with coins.

The homeowner woke up to noises and found the intruder standing in her bedroom holding family property. When she demanded to know what he was doing, he claimed that someone else had rented the house to him and even gave him a key. He responded to her protests by saying, "Who are you? This is my house." As she chased him down the stairs shouting for him to leave, he refused to show the contents of the bag he took and fled with the stolen items.

The prosecution accuses Ben Hamo of residential burglary, theft, and criminal trespassing. The case highlights the unusual confrontation triggered by the noise he made while searching for valuables, which ultimately exposed his presence to the homeowner. The legal process is ongoing following the indictment submission.
