Over 100,000 Gather at Western Wall for Emotional Tisha B'Av Closing Prayers

More than 100,000 worshippers gathered at the Western Wall throughout Tisha B'Av, from the evening lamentations at the start of the fast until its conclusion. The crowd came to mourn the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, praying and reciting kinnot near the historic site. As the fast ended, thousands of Jews from Israel and the diaspora filled the plaza, joining in circles of singing, prayer, and songs of comfort and yearning for redemption.

Following the afternoon Mincha prayer, hundreds of young people led a powerful communal singing that energized the assembly.
