Hapoel Haifa Prepares for Derby with Nearly Full Squad Ahead of Season Opener

Hapoel Haifa held a training session at Beit Nagler on July 23 as they prepare for the upcoming Haifa derby in the Toto Cup scheduled for Saturday. Coach Haim Silvas has almost the entire squad available, with only Tamir Arbel and injured Itay Zeffren absent. All four of the team's foreign players have passed clearance, allowing Silvas to rely on a relatively complete roster.

Despite this, Silvas continues to communicate to club owner Yoav Katz that the squad is not yet complete. The club aims to strengthen key positions by signing a winger, an attacking midfielder, a left-back, and a striker. Additionally, they hope to add two to three foreign players who can immediately enhance the team's quality ahead of the season start.

There was initial uncertainty about the team’s ability to train at Beit Nagler due to a debt owed to the municipality, but the debt has since been settled, allowing the team to continue using their training ground. Meanwhile, negotiations are ongoing to restructure a 1.8 million shekel debt owed to the Israel Football Association, with Hapoel Haifa seeking to arrange a payment plan.
