Hapoel Haifa Coach Optimistic Ahead of Season Opener

Hapoel Haifa is buzzing with anticipation for their first league match of the season, hosting Hapoel Tel Aviv on Thursday. Following a successful preseason, the team aims to start the Israeli Premier League campaign strong. Coach Haim Silvas is expected to field the same starting lineup that played in the Toto Cup match against Hapoel Be'er Sheva. New signing William Agada is set to make his debut, likely coming off the bench.

Silvas expressed his optimism, stating, "After a positive summer and good preparation for the league, the anticipation is high to begin. We are facing a great team that has succeeded in Europe and is a strong contender for the championship. At home, with our fans who feel something different is being built for the season and will give us a strong push, we will come out very determined and leave everything on the field to be happy after the game and start the league on the right foot."

Before kickoff, the club will hold a ceremony honoring former player Yitzhak Einchi, who passed away last week. Einchi played for Hapoel Haifa for 13 seasons and was instrumental in the team's 1974 State Cup final victory, assisting the winning goal. The estimated starting lineup includes Yoav Gerafi, Noam Cohen, Dario Zupearic, Ivan Kritzak, Ariel Mendi, Naor Sabag, Chic Keita, Shai Elias, Yaad Gonen, Alon Turgeman, and Liran Rotman.
