Shin Bet Document Reveals Serious Allegations Against Administrative Detainee Tal Yinon-Dardik

A Shin Bet document obtained by Channel 7 reveals that Tal Yinon-Dardik, an administrative detainee currently on a hunger strike, is suspected of serious violent offenses and abuse against Palestinians. According to police reports, during an incident, Jewish individuals attacked Palestinians, including women and children, using clubs, restrained several victims, committed an indecent act against one, and caused four people to require medical treatment. The Shin Bet document also states that the Central Command commander signed the administrative detention order against Dardik based on the agency's explicit recommendation.

Earlier reports indicated that Dardik rejected all alternatives to detention proposed by the IDF following intervention by Defense Minister Israel Katz. These proposals included house arrest at his parents’ home in Maale Adumim or renting a legal apartment in the West Bank for him and his family. Security sources said Dardik refused all offers outright, insisting on house arrest at his own home, located in Area B in an illegal outpost. He declared he would continue his hunger strike unless allowed to stay there.

Security officials emphasized that Dardik is not held because house arrest was denied but because he refuses to provide a legal address as required by the district court. Once he provides a lawful address, he will be released to house arrest. They noted that releasing him to his home in Area B is impossible due to a recent cabinet decision banning illegal outposts in Area B to avoid tensions with the United States and support settlement expansion in Area C.

Dardik, a resident of Havat Terfoun and father of four, was detained about two weeks ago for allegedly violating the administrative order, which required him to stay at his mother-in-law’s house without her consent or prior notice. After his arrest, he began a hunger strike and later a thirst strike. The Honenu organization claims he suffers from repeated fainting, severe weight loss, critical vital signs decline, and a body temperature drop to 34 degrees Celsius.

Defense Ministry sources clarified that Minister Katz has no authority over administrative detention orders, which are under the Central Command chief’s jurisdiction. The current case is handled by the prosecution and not by the minister or the command chief. They added that Katz, alongside Minister Bezalel Smotrich and with the Prime Minister’s backing, has promoted the establishment of 104 new settlements in the West Bank, legalized 160 farms, canceled administrative detention orders, and led operations against terror camps in Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur al-Shams.

Dardik’s family strongly criticized the authorities, accusing Central Command of lying and Katz of refusing to rectify the injustice. They denied that a legitimate housing offer was made, stating that only recycled, irrelevant proposals were presented. They highlighted that Dardik manages a farm with 150 sheep and that house arrest or exile from the farm would destroy his livelihood and family. They called on Katz to make a courageous decision to cancel the administrative order and halt the use of other such orders immediately.
