Hundreds Protest in Jerusalem Demanding Release of Hunger-Striking Settler Tal Yanun Dardik

Hundreds gathered at the Russian Compound in Jerusalem to recite the Book of Lamentations and mourn collectively, calling for the immediate release of settler Tal Yanun Dardik. Dardik, who has been held under an administrative detention order issued by Central Command Chief Aviv Blot, has been on a hunger strike for 17 days. The protesters urged Defense Minister Israel Katz to intervene urgently in the matter.

Dardik, a resident of a West Bank outpost in Binyamin and father of four, was detained about two and a half weeks ago for allegedly violating the administrative order. This order placed him under full house arrest at his mother-in-law's home, who is a deaf widow and was not informed of the order, rendering it unenforceable. Following his detention, Dardik began his hunger strike in protest against the administrative detention.

His health has severely deteriorated, with repeated fainting, significant weight loss, a body temperature of 34 degrees Celsius, and declining vital signs. The legal aid organization Honenu has demanded urgent medical treatment and hospitalization to prevent serious harm to his health. Despite his worsening condition, enforcement agencies have not provided adequate response or care.
