Kan Radio Stations Lead Israel with Over 1.6 Million Daily Listeners in 2026
Kan, Israel's public broadcasting corporation, continues to dominate the Israeli radio market with more than 1.6 million daily listeners across its stations, according to the TGI media consumption survey for the first half of 2026 published on Wednesday. Kan Hadashot on Reshet Bet remains the leading news station with 906,000 daily listeners, marking a 1% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Kan Gimel attracts 614,000 daily listeners, while Kan 88 grew by 3% to 431,000 listeners. Kan Tarbut increased by 5% to 193,000 listeners, and Kan Morasha recorded its highest-ever audience with approximately 320,000 listeners, a 39% rise over last year, surpassing rivals Kol Chai and Kol Barama.
The top current affairs program is "Kalman Liverman" on Kan Hadashot Reshet Bet, hosted by Kalman Libeskind and Asaf Liverman, with 466,000 daily listeners, a 4% increase and the highest in two years. Other notable programs include "HaBoker HaZeh" with Aryeh Golan at 425,000 listeners, and the economic news show "Tzeva HaKesef" with Yair Weinreb, which surged 25% to 201,000 listeners. The rights advocacy program "Ze Magiachem" with Dr. Gili Tamir also grew by 3% to 102,000 listeners.
Kan Gimel's morning show with Maya and Kuti draws 150,000 listeners, and Aharon Perera has 265,000 listeners. On Kan Tarbut, the personal philosophy program "Esh Zarah" with Nadav Halperin increased by over 150% to 43,000 listeners, while the daily culture news show "Gam Ken Tarbut" with Goel Pinto rose 47% to 36,000 listeners. The popular Mediterranean music program "Egan HaYam HaTikhon" with Vered Yiftahi-Green grew 3% to 278,000 weekly listeners. Weekend programs such as "Shabbat Olamit" with Oren Nahari and "Ma'avirim LeRishon" with Liat Regev also saw significant audience increases.
Kan CEO Golan Yochpaz emphasized the growing lead and importance of Kan's radio stations in Israeli public broadcasting. Acting Radio VP Ido Tamari thanked listeners for their trust and pledged to maintain quality public broadcasting. Kan Hadashot Reshet Bet manager Gal Berger and News Division head Lior Landenberg also expressed gratitude to listeners and staff, highlighting their commitment to independent and professional journalism. Kan is also commemorating 90 years of public broadcasting in Israel this year.
