Israeli Prosecution Seeks Citizenship Revocation for Security Prisoners Aiding Hamas

The Israeli State Prosecution has filed a precedent-setting request with the Central District Court to revoke the citizenship of two security prisoners convicted of aiding the enemy. The prisoners, Rani Of and Shadi Aidi, were found guilty of conspiracy to assist an enemy during wartime and providing information to harm state security. Both worked at the telecommunications company Cellcom and engaged in activities aimed at disabling the company’s computer and information systems during a war or military operation to support Hamas. This citizenship revocation request was submitted following a directive from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also serves as Interior Minister, and was approved by the Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara.
