Israeli MK Naama Lazimi Shares Intimate Look at Family Home in Holon

Naama Lazimi, a Knesset member and recent winner of the Democratic primaries, moved with her family to a rented apartment in Holon's Kiryat Ben Gurion neighborhood just weeks before October 7. The family relocated from Haifa, bringing with them nostalgic furniture and heirlooms, but have kept the home’s decor simple and functional due to their busy schedules and the tense political climate in Israel.

The fourth-floor apartment in a 1990s building is close to parks and schools for their children, Rona Esther, 8, and Larel Zion, 5. Lazimi describes the building’s community as supportive and active, with neighbors participating in protests for the return of hostages. Her husband, Avraham Heren, a doctoral student and local teacher, supports her political work and helps manage the household.

Lazimi emphasizes that their home is meant for living rather than pristine order, allowing for messiness and creativity, especially for their children. The family enjoys music on a vintage record player every Friday and values comfort and warmth over strict design rules. Their home features a mix of vintage and modern elements, including family heirlooms from Persian and Moroccan grandparents.

Despite her demanding political career, Lazimi prioritizes family time, especially on Fridays and weekends, cooking traditional meals and spending quality time with her children. She acknowledges limited involvement in local Holon issues due to her national responsibilities but appreciates the neighborhood’s young families and community spirit.
