Hapoel Ramat Gan Considers Niv Eliasi After Goalkeeper Sherif Kiyouf's Injury

Hapoel Ramat Gan, newly promoted to the Israeli Premier League, is exploring the option of signing goalkeeper Niv Eliasi following a major setback. About a month ago, the club had reached an agreement with Sherif Kiyouf, goalkeeper for Maccabi Haifa, to join their squad. However, Maccabi Haifa delayed the loan until they secured their own goalkeeper. After Omri Glazer signed with Maccabi Haifa, Kiyouf was expected to move to Hapoel Ramat Gan, but those plans were disrupted.

On Monday, Kiyouf started in a friendly match against Hapoel Kfar Saba but suffered a torn Achilles tendon after an awkward landing. This injury will sideline him for approximately one year, leaving Hapoel Ramat Gan without their planned goalkeeper for the upcoming season. Consequently, the club is now considering Niv Eliasi, who is under contract with Hapoel Be'er Sheva but is not in their current plans. If Eliasi declines, Hapoel Ramat Gan may seek a foreign goalkeeper, which would require them to forgo a foreign player in another position.
