Hapoel Be'er Sheva Goalkeeper Niv Eliasi Secretly Explores Greek Offer but Declines

Niv Eliasi, the goalkeeper for Hapoel Be'er Sheva, recently traveled secretly to Greece to evaluate a transfer offer from local club Levadiakos. After returning to Israel, Eliasi decided not to accept the proposal at this time.

Eliasi began last season as Be'er Sheva's first-choice goalkeeper but lost his starting position to Ofir Marciano toward the end of the campaign. The club further strengthened its goalkeeping options by signing Marko Wolf from Maccabi Petah Tikva, which further diminished Eliasi's role. This situation prompted Eliasi to consider a move abroad.

In the final match of the previous season, which was largely inconsequential, Eliasi played against Maccabi Haifa at Turner Stadium while Marciano was rested ahead of the State Cup final. That game was a disappointing memory for Eliasi. The club's roster last season also included players such as Hisham Layous, Joel Abu Hanna, and former Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Haifa player Alen Ožbolt.
