About a month ago, the club had agreed terms with Maccabi Haifa goalkeeper Sharif Kiyof for his transfer, contingent on Haifa first securing their own goalkeeper. After Omri Glazer signed with Maccabi Haifa, Kiyof was expected to join Hapoel Ramat Gan. However, during a friendly match against Hapoel Kfar Saba on Monday, Kiyof suffered a severe Achilles tendon rupture, sidelining him for an estimated year. This injury has left Hapoel Ramat Gan without their intended goalkeeper for the upcoming season. The club is now considering Niv Eliasi, who is under contract with Hapoel Be'er Sheva but not in their plans.
