Sharif Kiyof Nears Loan Move to Hapoel Ramat Gan
Maccabi Haifa’s goalkeeper situation is in focus this summer, with two separate developments involving its squad. According to a report by Sport 5, Sharif Kiyof is close to sealing a loan move to new Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Ramat Gan. Kiyof wants regular playing time, has already agreed in principle to the terms, and is now waiting for Maccabi Haifa’s approval.
If the loan goes through, Haifa plans to turn to Omer Nirron as the backup goalkeeper. Nirron is expected to return to action in about a month after shoulder surgery. The club’s third-choice goalkeeper next season is expected to be Glen Elvin, while Mark Golenkov will remain the first-choice keeper for the youth team.
At the same time, Haifa is also dealing with interest in its current No. 1, Yermakov. Ukrainian media reported on Friday, June 13, 2026, that Metalist Kharkiv had submitted a 3 million euro offer, but Haifa said it had not received any bid yet. Sport 5 reported that an offer is expected in the coming days, and that while Yermakov was with Ukraine’s national team, he came under pressure to join the local club.
Haifa intends to significantly raise Yermakov’s salary, which is now 200,000 euro. If he is sold, the club already has a plan, with Omer Glazer expected to replace him.
