Trump Signals Lebanon Joining Abraham Accords and Threatens Strike on Iran's Nuclear Site

On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump met with Lebanese President Michel Aoun in the Oval Office, addressing regional tensions involving Lebanon, Israel, and Iran. Trump expressed optimism that more countries, including Lebanon, would soon join the Abraham Accords peace agreements. He also discussed the threat posed by Yemen's Houthi rebels, warning about the potential closure of the Bab al-Mandab strait and recalling a recent non-aggression pact with the Houthis.

Trump pledged significant U.S. assistance to Lebanon, acknowledging the country's long history of hardship. In response, President Aoun highlighted internal political support for his actions, noting backing from Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, a known Hezbollah supporter.

Regarding Iran, Trump stated he has no intention of negotiating with Tehran at this time, despite Iran's eagerness to meet. He emphasized that talks would only occur if Iran is serious about discussions. In a dramatic declaration, Trump announced that the U.S. plans to attack the secretive nuclear site at Jabal al-Mukhash, which has never been targeted before, saying, "We will certainly strike there."
