Trump also pledged backing for Lebanon's economy and legitimate security forces, stating that the US would spare no effort to help Lebanon regain its regional and international role.
President Aoun expressed gratitude for US support of Lebanon's legitimate authority and institutions, particularly the army. He affirmed Beirut's responsibility to implement the framework agreement and hoped Washington would help prevent violations and ensure all commitments are fulfilled. Aoun called on the US to pressure Israel to withdraw from areas it still occupies in southern Lebanon to facilitate Lebanese army deployment up to the border.
