Nazareth Man Arrested for Plotting Attack on Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir
A 29-year-old resident of Nazareth, Mohammad Awad, was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of attempting to join the Hamas terrorist organization and planning an attack against Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel's Minister of National Security. According to police, Awad sought to recruit Hamas support and resources to carry out terrorist activities, including targeting a sitting government minister. During interrogation, Awad admitted to contacting Hamas to enlist and facilitate his plans for violent acts. Following the investigation, the prosecution filed an indictment statement against Awad, with formal charges expected to be submitted in the coming days.
