OpenAI Explores Establishing Business Development Hub in Israel

OpenAI is considering opening a business development center in Israel and has begun recruiting employees to focus on the local market. This move aims to strengthen ties with Israel's high-tech industry, according to a report by Calcalist. A senior Israeli executive recently joined OpenAI from Amazon, where he managed AWS for Startups in Israel. In his new role, he will oversee OpenAI's activities across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, reporting to management in London but primarily focusing on the Israeli market.

As part of its expansion, OpenAI plans to hold a startup event in Israel at the end of the month in collaboration with AWS, showcasing its enterprise AI solutions. The company is also advertising a client management position targeting the Israeli high-tech sector. Although the official job location is Paris, the role will be based in Israel with reporting lines to European offices.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's leadership reflects the company's recognition of Israel's central role in AI adoption and implementation, despite the absence of a national language model development industry. Israel is globally recognized for its advanced use of AI technologies, especially within the enterprise sector, making it a strategic location for OpenAI's business development efforts.
