Man Stages Car Trouble to Surprise Partner with Creative Marriage Proposal by Sea of Galilee

Ido Glicko planned an unforgettable marriage proposal for his partner, Emily Maman, by orchestrating a staged car breakdown along a roadside near the Sea of Galilee. The couple stopped to help a stranded driver, who was actually photographer Ravid Boaz planted by Glicko. As a thank you, Boaz offered to photograph them against the scenic backdrop. At the climax, Boaz instructed Emily to turn her back, allowing Glicko to present a ring and kneel. When she turned around, she was surprised by the proposal.

In an interview on "HaOlam HaBoker," Glicko explained the idea emerged around their close birthdays celebrated during a hotel trip. He said, "I came up with the idea to have Ravid pretend to be the guy with the broken car." Emily admitted she had slight suspicions but was reassured by Ido, who told her, "I don't want you to be disappointed or upset." Boaz revealed challenges behind the scenes, including difficulty opening the car hood to simulate the breakdown and rescheduling due to Emily's graduation ceremony. Emily was initially shocked and silent for a minute but appreciated the thoughtful planning, including filming the proposal through the photographer's glasses.
