Husband of Israeli Innovation Minister Reveals Thoughtful Marriage Proposal at Western Wall

Hovav Damari, husband of Israeli Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Gila Gamliel, shared a rare personal moment during a live broadcast. He recounted how he carefully planned and executed his marriage proposal to Gamliel at the Western Wall, a sacred site in Jerusalem. While Gamliel faced the wall making a wish, Damari knelt behind her with a ring, surprising her when she turned around. He told her, "The wish came true."

The couple met while studying law and married in 2008. They are approaching their 18th wedding anniversary and have two daughters, Tahel and Yael, born during Gamliel's tenure in the 18th Knesset. Gamliel has previously noted that their age difference is not an obstacle, as Damari is mature and supportive of her public service career.
