Ironi Kiryat Shmona Signs Brazilian Midfielder Tales Costa as Christian Martinez Replacement
Ironi Kiryat Shmona has announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Tales Costa, who joins the northern Israeli club following the recent sale of their standout midfielder Christian Martinez to Slovan Bratislava. Costa, 23 years old and 1.76 meters tall, signed a one-year contract with an option for two additional years. He arrives after ending his stint with Ukrainian club Polissya Zhytomyr in April, a team that had acquired him for one million euros. During his time there, Costa made 46 appearances, scoring one goal and providing six assists.
Costa developed in the prestigious youth academy of Sao Paulo FC, making his senior debut at a young age and gaining experience in Brazil's top league, the Copa Libertadores, and other international competitions. He was also part of Brazil's under-17 national team that won the World Cup in 2019. His signing is seen as a direct replacement for Martinez, aiming to strengthen Ironi Kiryat Shmona's midfield ahead of the upcoming season.
