Multiple Offers Pursue Hapoel Kiryat Shmona Midfielder Christian Martinez After World Cup

The transfer race for Christian Martinez, the midfielder of Hapoel Kiryat Shmona who impressed at the 2026 World Cup with Panama, is intensifying. Following reports that Brazilian club Corinthians showed interest, it has now emerged that several offers have been made for Martinez, including one from a Spanish top-division team. Panamanian journalist Ricardo Icaza reported that while multiple bids exist, Kiryat Shmona, which owns 75% of Martinez's rights, is demanding a high transfer fee of at least 1.5 million euros. The highest offer so far is reportedly 800,000 euros from the Spanish league, falling short of the club's demands.

Martinez, 29, completed his second season with Kiryat Shmona last year, making 64 league appearances and scoring five goals. He was called up to the Panama national team for the World Cup, playing in all three group stage matches and completing full 90 minutes in two of them. Panama lost all three games and was eliminated in the group stage. The ongoing negotiations highlight the club's firm stance on the player's valuation amid international interest.
