Multiple Offers Emerge for Panama Midfielder Christian Martinez Including Spanish League Bid

The transfer race for Christian Martinez, the midfielder from Hapoel Kiryat Shmona who impressed at the 2026 World Cup with Panama, is intensifying. Following reports that Brazilian club Corinthians showed interest, Panamanian journalist Ricardo Icaza revealed that several offers have been made for Martinez, including one from a Spanish top-tier league team. However, Hapoel Kiryat Shmona, which owns 75% of Martinez's rights, is demanding a high transfer fee of at least 1.5 million euros. The highest offer so far reportedly stands at 800,000 euros from the Spanish league club.

Martinez, 29, completed his second season with Kiryat Shmona last year, making 64 league appearances and scoring five goals. He was called up to the Panama national team for the 2026 World Cup, playing in all three group stage matches and completing full 90 minutes in two of them. Panama lost all three games and was eliminated in the group stage. The ongoing negotiations highlight the club's firm stance on his valuation amid growing international interest.
