Former El Al CEO Dina Ben Tal Gannasia Joins Ofer Yanai’s Nofar Energy Board
Dina Ben Tal Gannasia, the former CEO of Israeli airline El Al, has been appointed as an external director at Nofar Energy, a company owned by Ofer Yanai. Ben Tal Gannasia announced her retirement from El Al a year ago and officially stepped down at the end of 2025 after serving three years as CEO. Her departure was initially linked to expectations of her moving to another executive role, but she has not taken on any new management positions since. Instead, she also serves as an external director at Halal Communications.
Two months before leaving El Al, Ben Tal Gannasia exercised an option worth 8 million shekels, following the company’s record profit of $545 million in 2024. The announcement of her new appointment at Nofar Energy comes amid challenging times for energy companies in Israel. The Electricity Authority recently announced a 140-day freeze on processing approvals for new data center farms, with pending requests totaling 27,000 megawatts, three times the average electricity consumption in Israel.
This development highlights ongoing regulatory and market pressures in Israel’s energy sector, coinciding with Ben Tal Gannasia’s transition into a strategic role within the industry.
