Or Olam Center Hosts Nationwide Tisha B'Av Memorials and Spiritual Gatherings

The Or Olam Center organizes major Tisha B'Av events across Israel, commemorating the destruction of the Temple and Jewish suffering throughout history. These gatherings, held on the night of Tisha B'Av, attract thousands seeking to connect with the solemnity of the day through prayer, lamentation, and spiritual strengthening.

Events will take place in dozens of locations including Jerusalem, Bnei Brak, Beit Shemesh, Modiin Illit, Beitar Illit, Ashdod, Haifa, and Kiryat Gat. The programs feature unique visual presentations and selected lectures by Rabbi Yisrael Goldwasser, alongside sessions on Judaism behind the Iron Curtain led by Rabbi Tuvia Rozental, head of Or Olam's Generations of Silence division.

Participants will experience historical footage and emotionally powerful materials depicting the destruction of the Temple, the Holocaust, Soviet-era oppression, and persecution of yeshiva students past and present. The two-hour events aim to awaken hearts to the enduring trials of the Jewish people.

Rabbi Chanoch Zvi Rubinstein, chairman of Or Olam, emphasized that the gatherings are held under the guidance and blessing of leading rabbis, with an affordable entrance fee of 50 shekels. Proceeds support Or Olam’s Torah study programs and educational initiatives. For those unable to attend in person, the events will be streamed live online at a reduced price.
