Man from Baqa al-Gharbiyye Charged with Extortion Posing as Hariri Crime Family Member
The Central District Prosecutor's Office (Criminal Division) filed charges against 26-year-old Yosef Amar from Baqa al-Gharbiyye at the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court. Amar is accused of extorting a renovation contractor by threatening him while falsely claiming to be a member of the Hariri crime family. According to the indictment, the contractor owed approximately 10,000 shekels to a man named Noor Saleh, who enlisted Amar to collect the debt on his behalf. Despite the contractor reporting the threats to the police, Amar continued to intimidate him.
