Eilat Mayor Holds Emergency Meeting After Iranian Missile Fire Toward Jordan

Following missile fire from Iran targeting the nearby Jordanian city of Aqaba, Eilat Mayor Eli Lankri convened an urgent security briefing with senior commanders from local defense, emergency, and rescue forces. The meeting included the regional brigade commander and the head of the Eilat police district to assess the incident's potential impact on Eilat and its residents.

Security officials reported that upon identifying the missile launch toward Aqaba, two interceptors were immediately launched from the Eilat area to prevent debris or dangerous fragments from reaching the city. The interception occurred entirely outside Eilat's airspace.

After the meeting, all security and rescue agencies confirmed their readiness for any scenario, both routine and emergency. The Home Front Command emphasized that there is currently no change in defense protocols for Eilat and its surroundings. Local authorities urged residents to continue following official instructions and assured that any updates or changes in guidelines would be communicated promptly.
