Man Covered in Blood Enters Family Car with Knife at Haifa Beach Parking Lot

A frightening incident unfolded last week at the Students' Beach parking lot in Haifa when a blood-covered man armed with a knife suddenly entered the car of attorney Yair Dagan Biran and his family. The event occurred shortly after a stabbing attack nearby that left two men seriously injured. Dagan Biran was with his partner and three children, ages 9, 10, and 12, on a family outing when the man abruptly opened the rear door, sat next to his 9-year-old daughter, and shouted "Drive, drive!".

Reacting instinctively to protect his children, Dagan Biran quickly exited the driver's seat, grabbed the man by the arm, and removed him from the vehicle without resistance. The children later reported seeing a blood-stained knife in the suspect's right hand. Despite the threatening appearance, the man appeared terrified and did not attempt to attack the family, instead trying to flee once detained.

The family noticed blood on themselves and the car, and Dagan Biran's partner informed him that two stabbing victims were lying on the ground nearby, calling for help before emergency services arrived. Dagan Biran contacted the police, who were already aware of the stabbing incident and took his statement but did not summon him for further testimony.

Despite the shock, the family continued their trip after cleaning up with wipes provided by another beachgoer. Dagan Biran described the episode as a brief 15-second ordeal that, while alarming, did not escalate into violence. Shortly after, a near accident occurred when the car, left in drive, began moving with the children inside, but Dagan Biran stopped it in time.
