Man Attacks Driver with Knife in Road Rage Incident, Then Attempts Bribery

A seemingly minor dispute over right-of-way on a Tel Aviv street escalated into a violent assault on September 11, 2026. A 29-year-old resident of Bat Yam allegedly attacked another driver with punches and a knife, witnessed by bystanders. Security footage captured the incident, showing the suspect exiting his vehicle aggressively and striking the victim before brandishing a knife.

Onlookers and security personnel intervened to separate the individuals. Following the initial assault, which left the victim injured and requiring medical attention, the suspect reportedly approached the victim again. He is accused of offering the victim a sum of money and pleading with him not to involve the police, in an attempt to obstruct justice.

Police from the Shar'at station in the Ayalon district launched an investigation after receiving a report. Officers apprehended the suspect, a 29-year-old Bat Yam resident, and seized the knife believed to have been used in the attack. The suspect's detention was extended periodically by the court as the investigation progressed.

Last weekend, the police investigation culminated in a full indictment filed by the Tel Aviv District Prosecution Unit. The indictment includes a request for the suspect to be held in custody until the legal proceedings against him are concluded.
