Young Man Stabbed in Haifa Amid Rising Violence in Northern Israel

A young man around 20 years old was stabbed on Friday evening on Halutzei HaTaasiya Street in Haifa and was rushed to Rambam Hospital in serious condition. Emergency medical personnel treated him at the scene before transporting him by ambulance. The police have launched an investigation and are searching for those involved.

Earlier the same day, a 31-year-old man from Arraba in the Lower Galilee was found shot dead in an open area in Daran Darna. Paramedics confirmed his death at the scene, and police began collecting evidence to determine the circumstances of the killing.

According to the Abraham Initiatives organization, 163 Arabs have been killed in violence and crime-related incidents since the start of 2026, including 159 civilians and 4 residents. Among the victims, 141 were shot, 7 stabbed to death, and 12 were women or girls. This marks a 1.24% increase compared to the same period last year.

Yesterday, the Northern District Prosecutor's Office filed serious charges against three suspects from Sajur, Samia, and Kiryat Shmona for a double murder in Bukata, northern Golan Heights, two months ago. The victims, Marwan Abu Shaheen (52) and Saada Saada (56) Hurfish, were shot dead in a premeditated assassination by a northern crime organization. The suspects had rented a cabin in Bukata the day before and arrived with two vehicles purchased in Aspia, according to the indictment submitted by attorneys Yael Katz, Lusana Saig, and Tom Yairi.
