Man Shot Dead in Northern Israel Town Amid Ongoing Gangland Murder Probe
A 31-year-old man was found shot to death on Friday morning in an open area in the town of Arraba in the Lower Galilee region. Paramedics from Magen David Adom arrived at the scene and confirmed the victim was dead due to a critical penetrating injury. Paramedic Lior Gleizer described the victim as unconscious, without pulse or breathing upon their arrival. The police have launched an investigation and are collecting evidence at the scene.
This incident comes shortly after the Northern District Prosecutor's Office filed serious charges against three suspects aged 19 to 43 for a double murder that occurred about two months ago in Bukata, northern Golan Heights. The victims, Marwan Abu Shaheen (52) and Saada Saada Khourfish (56), were shot dead in a premeditated gangland killing. According to the indictment, the criminal gang planned the murders in advance, renting a cabin in Bukata and arriving with two vehicles purchased from a car lot in Aspia.
Following a covert investigation by the Northern District Police, several suspects were arrested and multiple vehicles, including the one used in the Bukata murders, were seized. However, the main suspect remains at large after evading capture for approximately two weeks. The police continue to investigate the recent shooting in Arraba and its possible connections to organized crime in the region.
