Israeli Source Claims Iran's Mojtaba Khamenei Is Not in Iran Amid Internal Turmoil

An Israeli security official told Saudi Al-Hadath channel on Sunday that Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, is not currently in Iran. The official added that the messages attributed to Khamenei, who has not appeared publicly since assuming his role after his father Ali Khamenei's assassination, are actually written by Revolutionary Guards commander Ahmad Vahidi. The source described deep internal divisions within Iran that threaten the existence of the Revolutionary Guards.

The official also stated that the United States does not want Israel to participate in actions against Iran, even if Iran attacks Israel. Furthermore, the source revealed that Iran had planned assassination attempts against Israeli figures in Tel Aviv as retaliation for the killing of Ali Khamenei.

Yesterday, Mojtaba Khamenei issued a written statement calling for vengeance for his father's death during a speech at Ali Khamenei's funeral. He vowed that the regime would remain loyal to his father's path, saying, "Now, as we part with tearful eyes and broken hearts from your body, we swear to stand by your words and steadfastly follow the path you showed us." This statement was broadcast on Iranian state television. The report also noted that the demand for avenging Ali Khamenei's death is considered a national obligation in Iran. Additionally, it was mentioned that the U.S. believed Israel was planning to assassinate senior members of the Iranian delegation.
